StarCraft 2’s campaigns are still fans’ favorite, but you often want to tear through missions, experiment with units, or scout the battlefield without having to juggle supply depots and gas extractors. To fulfil this desire, Blizzard has introduced cheat codes in the game that you can use directly when in single-player campaigns and specific custom maps. None of these StarCraft 2 cheats work in multiplayer, and their activation also disables your achievements, but for pure single-player fun, nothing beats them.
Here’s a complete list of every StarCraft 2 cheat code, how they work, and the best StarCraft 2 Easter eggs hidden across Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void DLCs.
How to Use Cheats in StarCraft 2
StarCraft 2’s cheats are used directly through the same chat bar you use to send messages to other players. To use it, play a single-player campaign mission or a supported custom map, press Enter to open the chat bar, type the code, and hit Enter again to activate it. The effect applies instantly for the current mission, and once a cheat is enabled, achievements get disabled until you restart the mission. While you cheat with them, the codes are officially provided by the developers, so you don’t have to worry about getting banned.

StarCraft 2 Easter Eggs

Blizzard packed its campaigns with hidden jokes, cameos, and references, and a few of them take serious effort to find.
Piercing the Shroud Secret Mission (Wings of Liberty)
During Media Blitz, take control of the Odin and walk it down to the far bottom-right corner. Destroy the science facility at the end of the road. Documents drop from the rubble, which unlocks the Piercing the Shroud mission on the mission board, where you find experiments, Zerg hybrids, and classic Blizzard humor.
Diablo Cameos
Blizzard couldn’t resist:
- Devil’s Playground (Wings of Liberty) — bottom-right corner, Diablo stands on a ridge surrounded by lava.
- Roach Evolution (Heart of the Swarm) — Diablo appears inside one of the containment pods along the upper wall.
You can’t fight him, but spotting him is a tradition and an extra interesting activity.
Ewoks and Jurassic World References (Legacy of the Void)
In the Unsealing the Past mission, Endion is full of tiny furballs hidden in bushes and warming by campfires — unmistakably Ewoks. You will also encounter Indomilisk Rex, a mutated Zerg riff on Jurassic World’s Indominus Rex.
Tauren Marine Encounters
This can be said to be Blizzard’s favorite running joke.
- Zero Hour (Wings of Liberty) — clear the Zerg in the upper-left part of the map, move past the remains, and you’ll come across a Level 80 Tauren Marine. He panics and sprints into a porta-toilet if you approach.
- Templar’s Charge (Legacy of the Void) — enter the classic “up, up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right” movement sequence with the platform. A Tauren Marine crashes down in a mini-nuke and can be controlled.
If you like to do a cheat-based playthrough, a few choices can make the campaign more interesting instead of breaking it. Fast-build is generally the better option over free-build, since CatFoodForPrawnGuns keeps your economy relevant and speeds missions up. God Mode through TerribleTerribleDamage wipes out any challenge, so it’s best reserved for runs where you’ve already cleared the mission legitimately and want to experiment.
When hunting Easter eggs, you can reveal the map with TookTheRedPill to save a lot of time by removing the need to scout. SoSayWeAll unlocks a lot of helpful things to test army compositions beyond the campaign’s normal limits. If you want a full Hyperion playthrough without resource grind, using LeaveYourSleep with WhySoSerious will let you move between missions with all the credits you need.
