Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims through the newsletter that the highly anticipated Apple iPad Pro 2022 debut is only some days ahead. The well-informed journalist predicts that Apple will introduce a new iPad, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and Apple TV.
Invitations are typically sent out more than a week ahead, so this timeline validates rumors that Apple will not be holding a specific event for its upcoming iPads. Rather, it is said the items will go live on the internet alongside a media announcement.
This trend seems to be attributable to the cyclical aspect of the transition. Several changes are “essentially just feature enhancements or recycled concepts,” as Gurman explains.
The latest iPad Pros, both 11 and 12.9 inches in size, will have a design reminiscent of the previous year’s device. If this prediction holds, the same squared-off look will be adopted for the fourth time year after year. It would indicate that it has survived the three iterations of the initial pro tablet’s layout.
The most noticeable internal upgrade includes the exact M2 chipset as the MacBook Air 2022. Gurman expects an increase in performance of “almost 20%” from this, although it isn’t quite as fast as the previous release. However, it will still establish the iPad Pro as the best-rugged tablet available, considering how far ahead of the competition Apple Silicon is already in comparison to Qualcomm’s chipsets.
According to Gurman, development on the standard iPad 2022 edition is still underway, alongside the new iPad Pro. The release promises to be the “biggest substantial overhaul to that series in some years,” thanks to the inclusion of a USB-C port and minimalist design elements. A specific date is not provided; however, in the absence of such a constraint, Apple may bring out the updates to the market whenever they are done.
