Insiders Says that OpenAI’s Project Strawberry will Evolve into ChatGPT5 with Superior Math Skills

Project Strawberry promises breakthrough math capabilities.

Have you caught wind of OpenAI’s hush-hush Project Strawberry? Well, it seems like this project is ready to drop some impressive updates this Fall. Insiders are buzzing that Project Strawberry will largely change our expectations from chatbots, especially in terms of crunching numbers and coding.

A recent scoop by The Information, citing a couple of insiders, hints that Project Strawberry is an AI that will outdo any chatbot before it in math and programming skills. Given the occasional facepalms we’ve had with ChatGPT’s math antics (come on, we’ve all seen the meme-worthy math mishaps), this is the kind of upgrade we’ve hoped for.

Originally, it seemed like Project Strawberry was aimed at diving deep into autonomous research—like, really deep, without needing a nudge from us humans. And while that’s still on the menu, the big news is its newfound strength in math. Imagine a chatbot that doesn’t just stumble through algebra but masters it. That’s what we’re talking about here. But it’s not all about equations and code. The team behind Project Strawberry has shown its ability to tackle some brain-teasing puzzles, too.

Where did all this start? OpenAI CEO Sam Altman might have given us a hint earlier this month when he tweeted a picture of strawberries growing in the garden. But also possibly a cryptic nod to this project. Since then, rumors have been swirling, and there were even talks about a sneak peek given to some bigwigs in national security.

As for when we’ll get our hands on Project Strawberry, the word on the street is that it could be as soon as this Fall. And there’s talk that it might initially be part of what’s coming in ChatGPT 5. If it doesn’t fully merge into ChatGPT 5, its upgraded data handling capabilities could still play a huge role in training future models, helping them cut down on the pesky errors we sometimes get.

He believes every device must answer "But can it run Doom?" and RGB lighting definitely increases your FPS (provided you don't look at the benchmarks).
