Reports suggest that market leader Nvidia may be pulling the plug on its popular GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPUs. According to sources, Nvidia’s add-in-board (AIB) partners are ramping up production of the RTX 4060 lineup, hinting that the new cards could be hitting shelves soon.
Chinese tech news site Benchlife claims shipments of the RTX 3060 Ti have reportedly stopped, signaling the end of an era for one of the most loved midrange GPUs.
Early 2021 saw the arrival of the highly regarded GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, which immediately became a best-seller in the mid-range industry. While the product’s stated $399 MSRP, many customers were unable to purchase it due to limited supply and the crypto mania of 2020–2022.
It makes sense, with the RTX 4060 series in production, the 3060 Ti is no longer the go-to for gaming. The 4060 cards are said to be faster, and more efficient, and come with options for 8GB or 16GB of VRAM—giving gamers more flexibility and power. Nvidia seems all-in on its newer Ada Lovelace architecture, leaving the older Ampere chips, like those in the 3060 Ti, behind.
