The Latest RTX 4090 GPUs Reach a Massive 1200W Power Draw

With 1200W of power and triple-fan cooling, the new RTX 4090 GPUs are among the strongest 4090 models available.

The Latest RTX 4090 GPUs Reach a Massive 1200W Power Draw

VideoCardz claims that Galax will release not one but two RTX 4090 Hall of Fame graphics cards: the OC Lab and the OC Lab Plus.

Delivering up to 1200W of output power and equipped with triple cooling fans, these GPUs rank among the most powerful and feature-rich RTX 4090 models available. True to the HoF legacy, both cards are engineered for extreme overclocking and record-breaking performance. However, Galax has yet to confirm its pricing or release date.

It’s unusual to see two HoF models debut simultaneously. The OC Lab is the standard edition, while the OC Lab Plus is the flagship model, with the only notable difference being a 30MHz boost in clock speed for the Plus version.

Like their predecessors, both cards feature an all-white design, extending from the PCB and fans to the shroud. The latest models introduce a bold RGB crown around the central cooling fan, a standout design upgrade over the previous 3090 Ti HoF series. The crown’s oversized layout reportedly makes installation complex, though it can be detached if necessary.

With their dimensions of 344 × 183 × 77 mm, these GPUs are among the largest RTX 4090s on the market, though still shorter than the Asus ROG Strix. However, in terms of height and thickness, these graphics cards easily take the lead.

The true highlight, however, is their superior power delivery. Each model’s Performance BIOS mode can draw up to 666W, which exceeds the standard 16-pin connector limit by 66W. While the stock BIOS doesn’t yet fully support dual 16-pin adapters, users might soon be able to unlock this ability through custom BIOS modifications — potentially getting the GPUs’ full 1200W power.
