If you are interested in playing one of the popular and best RTS games, StarCraft 2, but you don’t know what specs I need to run this game. Today, we are here with the complete guide about the minimum and recommended StarCraft 2 system requirements. What hardware specifications do you need in your gaming PC to smoothly run this game?

To run StarCraft 2 depends on your PC capacity, and which hardware features your system has. If you know which specifications your rig has, you can compare them with the below-mentioned minimum and recommended StarCraft system requirements. These are the requirements that Blizzard recommends.

StarCraft 2 Introduction

StarCraft 2 is the highly anticipated sequel in the real-time strategy (RTS) genre, following the original StarCraft. With impressive graphical and gameplay upgrades, a fresh storyline, and tons of new features, it truly stands out from its predecessor.

Starcraft 2 Minimum & Recommended System Requirements

Released on July 27, 2010, StarCraft 2 has maintained a large and active player base over the years. If you’re thinking of playing it, you can build a system that handles 720p or 1080p gameplay with the right specs. As long as you’ve got a decent processor, GPU, and RAM, you’re good to go. Of course, a GTX, RTX, or a mid-range AMD Radeon graphics card will give you even better performance. At the very least, you’ll need something like an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 or ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT to keep things smooth and get good frame rates across all settings.

The campaign in StarCraft 2 is set four years after the events of Brood War, picking up where the original game left off. You’ll once again step into the shoes of Jim Raynor as he leads the charge against the corrupt Terran Dominion. Much like its predecessor, StarCraft 2 shines in its multiplayer mode. You can choose from three powerful factions: the human Terrans, the alien Zerg, or the psychic Protoss. Each comes with its own unique weapons and playstyles, adding depth to the game whether you’re playing solo or with friends.

StarCraft 2 unfolds in three parts: Legacy of the Void, Heart of the Swarm, and Nova Covert Ops. Each of these expansions brings new excitement to the single-player campaign, with its own set of missions and a focus on different species. Whether you’re into commanding the mighty Protoss or leading a Zerg swarm, there’s something here for everyone.

Even though it’s been around for more than a decade, StarCraft 2 continues to thrive in the eSports scene. It has a strong community of dedicated players and fans, so if you’re looking to jump into multiplayer, you’ll have no trouble finding opponents to challenge you. For those who enjoy a little extra help in the campaign, you can even find some StarCraft 2 cheats online to give you an edge in the intense single-player missions.

StarCraft 2 Minimum System Requirements

Below are the Starcraft 2 minimum requirements for Windows, which your hardware should at least contain.

CPU Intel® Core 2 Duo / AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 5600+
GPU NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT / Intel® HD Graphics 3000 / ATI™ Radeon HD 2600 XT or better
RAM 2GB of RAM
Storage 30GB of free space
OS Windows 7, 8, or 10 (64-bit)
Resolution At least 1024X768 display resolution
Internet Broadband Stable Internet Connection

StarCraft 2 Recommended Requirements

These are the recommended PC requirements for StarCraft 2 to have a solid performance with good graphics:

CPU Intel® Core i5 or AMD FX Series Processor or higher
GPU NVIDIA® GeForce GTX 650 / AMD Radeon™ HD 7790 or higher
RAM 4GB of RAM
Storage 30GB of free space
OS Windows 10 64-bit
Resolution At least 1024X768 resolution or more
Internet Broadband Stable Internet Connection

What are the Best Hardware Suggestions?

Even though StarCraft 2 is a bit outdated now, it’s still a pretty challenging real-time strategy game. The good news is that it’s fairly forgiving on newer devices, so your PC will probably exceed the minimum requirements easily. But if you’re running into issues, the game can still give you around 30+ frames per second (FPS) at medium settings on a 1920×1200 resolution with the minimum specs.

For the best experience, let’s look at the recommended system requirements. If you set everything to ultra, you can hit a smooth 60 FPS on a 2560×1600 resolution. Cranking up the settings to higher options will only increase the frame rate, making for an even smoother experience. As mentioned earlier, StarCraft 2 runs well on just about any modern PC, so there aren’t any major hardware challenges or tweaks you need to worry about.
