Similar to the battle passes that we see in many Battle Royale titles such as in Fortnite and PUBG, the Arrowhead Game Studios have also introduced a seasonal pass feature in Helldivers 2 with the name ‘Warbond‘. Usually, all players have access to the free Warbond battle pass from the start which can be unlocked by spending Requisition Medals to unlock each of its pages and the rewards in it. But, there is also another paid pass available in Helldivers 2, the Premium Warbond.
It comes with its own unique and powerful weapons which you can only get after unlocking this Warbond. The thing is that not everyone has access to this battle pass as it’s a premium service so requires investing real money or there is also a free method but it will cost a lot of Medals, time & effort, and most importantly, patience. If you want to unlock Premium Warbond to get the best possible gear the game provides, this guide tells you everything you need to know to obtain the guns in the battle pass.
How to Access Premium Warbond in Helldivers 2
There are three different types of editions available for the Premium Warbond: the Steeled Veterans, Cutting Edge, and the new arrival on 11 April 2024 with the name Democratic Detonation. Unlike the free battle pass which you can unlock right away with the Medals and then keep accessing page by page with the Requisition Medals, you need to spend 1,000 Super Credits here to buy any one of these Premium Warbonds. There is no specific requirement, you can choose any one of these versions. Alternatively, if you already purchased the Super Citizen Edition of the game, you will get the Premium Warbond unlocked by default from the get-go and enjoy its perks.
To unlock the Premium Warbond with the 1,000 Super Credits in your inventory, you need to visit the Acquisition Centre. If you are on PS5, hold down the Triangle button in the Center menu to get the paid pass while for the PC players, hit the Square button after getting into the Acquisition Centre and the Premium Warbond will be unclocked.
Getting Super Credits with Money
If you don’t have patience and can’t wait to unlock some powerful guns to destroy those Annihilator Tanks, Automatons, or Bile Titans, the quickest way is to purchase the Super Credit from the in-game store for $9.99. Yes, you have to spend some real money for that but I think it’s a fair price compared to how much the players invest in other games for every new season and new items.
Obtaining Super Credits for Free
But there is also a free approach to collecting the required amount of SC. If you have played enough Helldivers 2 and unlocked a few or at least one page of free Warbond, you may know that each of its pages also gives you 100 Super Credits. However, it means you will be on a mission to collect a lot of Requisition Medals to access every page of the free pass until you have obtained all 650 SC which you can from free basic Warbond. Check our guide on how to get a lot of Medals in Helldivers 2.
By calculation, you will have to spend a total of 1,300 Medals until you collect all those required Credits. The Requisition Medals can be obtained by completing Daily Personal Order challenges, other missions, or by looting. Not the best one but here is another source for them, you can also find and earn the Super Credits during the missions in secret places. These may be hidden in various POIs (points of interest) and you may even see them in bunkers alongside the usual loot – but these are not common in these locations and depend on your luck.
How to Get Premium Warbond Guns in Helldivers 2
No matter if you have purchased the Super Citizen bundle of the game and spent Super Credits, once the Premium Warbond is unlocked, the process is no different from the usual Warbond pass. You will get the pages with guns and other armor to unlock by spending the same Medals. In the end, it all comes down to the ‘collect & invest’ approach for the Medals, and this points out how important this in-game currency is. So, grab every single medal from anywhere, and in any way.
Regarding what items are available in premium Warbond includes weapons, armor, health boosters, player cards, different interesting emotes, and also Super Credits. Here’s every gun and other gear item you can unlock in all three Hellfdivers 2 Premium Warbonds:
- AR-243 Liberator Explosive – 20 Medals
- P-4 Senator – 15 Medals
- SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary – 60 Medals
- JAR-5 Dominator – 80 Medals
- G-10 Incendiary Grenade – 25 Medals
- LAS-16 Sickle – 20 Medals
- SG-8P Punisher Plasma – 60 Medals
- LAS-7 Dagger – 60 Medals
- ARC-12 Blitzer – 80 Medals
- BR-14 Adjudicator – 20 Medals
- R-36 Eruptor – 60 Medals
- GP-31 Grenade Pistol – 60 Medals
- CB-9 Exploding Crossbow – 80 Medals
- G-123 Thermite – 15 Medals
These upgraded weapons and explosives are a great equipment set you should definitely want to obtain. In tough and intensive battle situations where you don’t even have time to breathe, with strong gear like Liberator Explosive, Breaker Incendiary shotgun, and Dominator rifle which can pierce through light-medium armor, you will destroy all enemies in your surroundings and will able to clear your way out of it.
If you are confused between the Cutting Edge, Steeled Veterans, and Democratic Detonation Warbonds, all are available simultaneously and they have nothing to do with each other. But you will not receive the Cutting Edge and Democratic Detonation versions in Super Citizen Edition and will have to buy them separately. Another great thing about the paid battle passes is that they don’t expire and are available all the time in Helldivers 2 allowing you to unlock every item slowly and patiently.
And there you have it! That’s the rundown on unlocking Premium Warbonds in Helldivers 2. Keep an eye out as new Warbonds may also appear in the future.
