Call of Duty is perhaps the world’s most well-known first-person shooter game. The franchise has been around for decades and has had multiple titles covering different eras. It is a favorite of both casual gamers and competitive players alike. Streamers also take a liking to the franchise as it gives them plenty of content to work with.

As a Call of Duty streamer, you will have plenty of content to cover and deal with. However, to be successful and draw in the audience numbers, you will need to promote your Twitch live stream. To that end, there are a number of things you can do to give yourself a superior edge.

    Custom Overlays

Streaming is a visual medium and as such presentation is key here. Obviously, your content is what your audience is here for. But before they have the chance to take a few moments to catch up with the stream, they will pay attention to how the stream is being presented. As such, you will need custom Twitch overlays. You can easily create some with PosterMyWall and their Twitch overlay templates.

Templates will save you time and effort which you can dedicate to playing Call of Duty, getting good at it, and streaming. You can also create several overlays in advance and cycle through them. These overlays frame your stream and add production value to it. Your audience will be more likely to take you seriously this way.

Well-known Call of Duty streamer “scump” uses an overlay in his streams regularly. In this particular example, he and other streamers were judging a Call of Duty tournament and used an overlay. This separated the game stream from real-life camera streams where the audience could watch the judges as well. Not only does it make it easy to distinguish the content, it looks good as well.

    Short-form Videos

A great way to promote your Call of Duty Twitch streams is to compile short snippets and clips from them and upload them. There are multiple platforms that are specialized for this. YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and of course, TikTok are the best to create these clips and share them.

What to put up? Your best kills, plays of the game, trick shots, and any other intense game content can work. These will show off your skills and entice the viewers to check out your streams to watch more. Of course, you’ll need to possess these skills to begin with for this to work. So practice, get good, make these short clips, and upload them regularly. Each stream can give you several clips to upload so you won’t be short of content for some time.

    Get Active on Social Media

If you want to have any kind of online presence, you must have an active social media presence. As a streamer, this becomes even more important for you since you need to keep your audience engaged off-stream. Pick a couple of social media platforms and make profiles for your streamer persona. Facebook is good for a more exclusive community, while Twitter is open and wide-reaching. Instagram is a good fit for your most visually enticing content.

Talk about upcoming streams, discuss past streams and events, and answer any questions if the audience has any. As long as you keep the audience engaged and hyped up for your streams, the strategy will be successful.

    Collaborate with Other Streamers

An excellent way to promote your Call of Duty Twitch livestream is to collaborate with other streamers. This allows both of your fans to overlap and check out the streamer’s content. It becomes a mutually beneficial arrangement that can bring traffic to both streams. If you are a bigger streamer then you can help the other streamer out by giving them more views and possibly followers.

Similarly, if it is the other way around then you will be the one benefitting. You may hold special events like small tournaments as well provided you have the time and resources to set it up. If not, you can play with or against one or more streamers. You can test your skills against them or have a good time with co-op play when you’re playing with them. A win-win situation for everyone involved.

Success in Twitch streaming doesn’t come overnight. You will need to be at it for quite some time. There will be periods when you don’t see any growth at all, but that’s part of the process. The only way you can be successful is to be at it. Create a streaming schedule that works for you. Even if you stream once a week, if you are online week after week, you will see progress over time. The strategies listed above provide you with a roadmap of things to follow to see results. Consistently practice them and you will be successful as a Call of Duty streamer.
