When you reach the shadowy world of Remnant 2, you’ll be walking through the remnants of a world lost to time. The artifacts of the world before the apocalypse are strewn from every corner. One of these is the Rusty Medal – to many it may seem like an insignificant thing; however, this little piece is the key to unlocking the Hunter Archetype. If you love sniping or battling from a long distance, you don’t want to miss out on this amazing class.

Further, if you’re looking to shift how you play with the help of Engrams, especially to acquire the Hunter Engram, you’ll need to start with the Rusty Medal in Remnant 2. But the game doesn’t exactly hand you a map to finding these items; it likes to keep a bit of mystery. But don’t worry—I’m here to cut through the fog. While finding the Medal still requires some legwork, I can save you some time by telling you where to get it and then how you can use it.

How to Get the Rusty Medal in Remnant 2

Brabus Map Location in Ward 13 in Remnant 2

To obtain the Rusty Medal, you need to head over to Ward 13 and meet an NPC, Brabus there. If you have previously played Remnant: From the Ashes, you may be familiar with this guy. He was a tough boss there but now playing his part as an items seller in this game. This merchant is at the firing range and sells a lot of different items including your required Rusty Medal.

But it isn’t cheap, you need to invest a total of 1,500 Scraps to get it from him. If you don’t have enough Scraps in your inventory, you can collect them by defeating enemies in combats, exploring hidden nooks, and looking for the loot chests. Every bit of Scrap counts, and soon enough, you’ll have enough to exchange for the Rusty Medal.

How to Use the Rusty Medal

Getting crafted Hunter Engram from Wallace

After purchasing the Rusty Medal from Brabus, you will have to look for and meet another guy Wallace within Ward 13. Walk up the stairs near the ship dock and you will come across him sitting there. To unlock the Hunter Archetype, your first step is to get the Enigram which is required for that and this NPC is an expert for this work. Hand over the Rusty Medal alongside 1,000 Scraps and 10 Lumenite Crystals to him. He will then do his work and craft you the Sniper War Medal Engram. If you don’t have Lumenite Crystals, you can either buy them from the merchant, Cass or collect them after killing the enemies.

Once you have got the Hunter Engram, equip it to your Engrams/Archetypes slot and it will let you play as Hunter in Remnant 2. With that, you will now have access to all the abilities and benefits this archetype brings into the game.

Getting your hands on the Rusty Medal in Remnant 2 is quite the investment—it costs as much as some of the fanciest weapons in the game. Moreover, you don’t pay for the medal only; you also need to gather plenty of Scrap and Lumenite Crystals to get the Engram to unlock the archetype. So before you visit Brabus and Wallace, make sure you’ve stockpiled enough resources.

What are the Benefits of the Hunter Archetype in Remnant 2?

Unlocked Hunter Archetype in Remnant 2

The Hunter Archetype is a great addition for those who love strategy and precision, allowing the play style that rewards careful planning and sharpshooting especially if you love being a long-range sniper. As a Hunter, your main strength lies in your ability to engage enemies from long distances.

That means you can often take down threats before they even reach you, managing battles on your terms. This is particularly useful in Remnant 2, where enemies can swarm quickly and from all directions. Being able to thin the enemy groups from a distance can make your path through dark, monster-filled corridors much less perilous.

The Hunter Archetype comes with unique abilities and a starter weapon, the Huntmaster M1. This powerful single-shot sniper rifle is a godsend for critical headshots at tougher foes. Once you equip this Archetype, you will learn the enemy’s weak areas and make precise headshots to turn the fight in your favor — this will be your lifeline, particularly against tougher bosses and enemies.

Moreover, Rusty Medal and this archetype would make an excellent choice for you if you are at the beginning of the Remnant 2 journey. It will give you a solid foundation to build more focused and stronger builds later on. Popular builds like the Loaded Sharpshooter boost survivability; they increase your critical and long-range defense so that you can pick out battles.
