How to Get the Meridian Handgun in Remnant 2

    Do you have enough patience?

Remnant 2 loves throwing curveballs. From ridiculously tough enemies to puzzles that make you scratch your head, it offers a bit of everything. And right in the middle of all this madness, there is one weapon that’s worth the effort: the Meridian Handgun. But be prepared, because getting this weapon isn’t only about skill but mostly patience. Yes, there are 90 real-world minutes of waiting before you can unlock it. But it’s a grenade launcher, so it’s worth it, right?

So, let me tell you how I grabbed the Meridian in Remnant 2 without completely losing my mind (well, almost).

What is the Meridian in Remnant 2?

Remnant 2 Meridian Handgun (Grenade Launcher)

Despite being called a “handgun,” the Meridian is a grenade launcher. Yes, Remnant 2 likes to play tricks on us. It fires volatile grenades that blast on contact with an enemy, so it’s a solid choice for when you need to clear out the enemy groups who don’t let you breathe on the battlefield.

The Meridian also comes with a built-in mod called Screamer, which fires a high-powered rocket that deals a whopping 200 damage effective within a 2.5-meter area range. It’s great for the times when you need to teach an enemy a lesson in “don’t mess with me.” But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. First, you need to find and obtain it.

Where to Find the Meridian Handgun in Remnant 2?

Remnant 2 - Great Sewers Meridian Location

The Meridian is placed somewhere deep within the sewers of Losomn. And because this game loves to mess with us, it’s hidden behind secret passages; typical Remnant 2 move.

You can find the Meridian in one of several sewer dungeons:

    • The Great Sewers (my personal recommendation for this adventure)
    • Tiller’s Rest
    • Harvester’s Reach

Each of these dungeons has hidden areas where the Meridian could be stashed away. You’ll have to keep an eye out for secret tunnels that are blocked by crates, barrels, or whatever other junk the game decides to throw in your way. These places are very sneaky, so make sure to check every corner.

    Getting the Meridian

Once you find a suspicious spot, smash through the crates, barrels, or whatever’s blocking your way, and get yourself into the hidden passage. You’ll come across a big water pipe blocked by some gross-looking orange ooze or slimes. You will need to let the water fill up in the entire area with the help of this pipe.

Remnant 2 - Water Filling Up in the Area

Once you shoot the ooze, the pipe will start flooding the room with water. Here comes the main part of this task: it takes 90 real-time minutes for the room to fill up. No, this isn’t a joke. You’ve got to sit tight and wait. So, unless you have the patience of a monk, this is your cue to go do something else. Maybe grab a snack, run some errands, or I don’t know, stream your favorite show or movie on the mobile while keep looking at the screen after a while. But don’t leave the area or re-roll your map as it will reset the game.

Many players may be thinking about exiting the game and coming back again, but do you want to risk it after committing to this long wait? I sure didn’t. I parked myself in the game, did some stretching or other activities, and resisted the urge to throw my controller at the wall.

Remnant 2 - Meridian Handgun placed alongside dead body

When the water finally fills up the room, you’ll see some new platforms floating up and there appear two in the Great Sewers. Carefully jump across the wooden planks to reach another end of the tunnel. No pressure, but one wrong move and you’ll be taking an unscheduled dip. So, take your time with those jumps and get yourself into that tunnel. Once inside, you’ll find a small room with the Meridian Handgun lying on the ground alongside a corpse.

Is the Meridian Worth the Long Wait?

I’m not going to lie, waiting 90 minutes in real life to get a weapon is a bit bonkers. But the Meridian is worth the effort and that long patience if you love weapons that go full-blazing mode. The damage is solid, and that area of effect (AoE) can help with crowd control during intense situations when surrounded by enemies. Furthermore, with the Screamer mod giving you a rocket launcher on top of that, you will be turning yourself into a one-person demolition squad. But make sure to have something to keep you entertained during that wait. Whether it’s a good podcast or some fun multitasking, you’ll need it.
