A new Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition comparison video was shared online, highlighting the differences between the new version of the game launching next year and the original Wii U release.
The comparison video put together by ElAnalistaDeBits highlights how the Definitive Edition of the game will feature improved character models, textures, lighting, and shadows. Judging from the video, the enhancements aren’t as big as those seen in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, but that was to be expected, considering the first entry in the series was originally released on the Wii.
Besides visual improvements, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will feature some sort of new story content, as teased in the reveal trailer shared yesterday, which featured an alternate version of the post-credit scene from the original. As the game is the only entry in the series with no relation to the other games, it wouldn’t be surprising for the mysterious hooded figure seen in the new scene to bridge the gap with the other games.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition launches on March 20th, 2025 on Nintendo Switch. More information on some of the game’s unique features, such as the ability to create a custom avatar and ride massive mechs called Skells on Nintendo’s official website.
