Apple has brought little to no innovation with the iPhone 16 lineup’s design, and while the company could get away with it for another year, it ultimately has to shift to something more competitive and engaging. We have previously heard that the company is working on its thinnest iPhone to date, which will potentially see daylight in the second half of next year. However, Apple’s iPhone 17 Air is already gearing up to have some serious competition from Samsung, as it is also working on a Galaxy S25 Slim model, which could be launched alongside the rest of the lineup.

Apple’s rendition of the ultra-thin iPhone will be marketed as the company’s flagship model, but it will have its fair share of differences with the ‘Pro’ models that suggest otherwise. For instance, the device is slated to feature a single-lens camera at the back with a chip on par with the standard models instead of the iPhone 17 Pro. Nonetheless, it could still be priced higher than the ‘Pro’ models only because of its ‘Slim’ form factor. Samsung is already working on the Galaxy S25 Slim, which will be competing against Apple’s ultra-thin iPhone, but details on the design are scarce at this stage.
