Prior to the official release, a workstation PC integrator, Comino, has started to sell out units based on NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, which is indeed interesting to see.
NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090 Debuts In A High-End Workstation System By Comino, Offering Up To 8x Units In A Single System
NVIDIA’s RTX 50 “Blackwell” gaming GPUs are highly anticipated in the market, given that they are rumored to bring significant performance gains, and credit to the architectural changes. While the lineup is slated to be released by 2025, Comino, which is a company dealing in liquid-cooled workstation systems, has started to take orders for its “Grando Server,” which features 8x of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090 GPUs, marking the first occasion where we have seen the appearance of Team Green’s next-gen flagship GPU in the retail channel.
To get your pre-order, Comino has uploaded a form to fill out, which requires essential details to get involved in the process. However, the firm hasn’t mentioned the exact specifications of its system yet, apart from the fact that it uses eight of NVIDIA’s RTX 5090 SKUs. It’s important to note that the GPU is set to be released somewhere in Q1 2025, and pre-orders for a consumer GPU usually hint towards something illegitimate. Hence, buyers should be cautious before proceeding with such orders.
Another possibility here is that Comino might have started to take pre-orders to get an idea of what demand it is anticipating for its servers, and given that the company is an “official” NVIDIA partner, it might get some sort of exclusive treatment. Yet, it is highly advisable to wait for the official launch to occur before ordering such a system, given that by then, the details of the onboard GPU would be much more specific.
Speaking of details, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090 is rumored to be equipped with cutting-edge capabilities, including the likes of 32 GB GDDR7 VRAM across a 512-bit interface and GPU operating speeds of up to 28 Gbps, for up to 1792 GB/s of bandwidth, which depicts towards the fact that this particular SKU will debut with “mind-blowing” performance. Other rumored details include TBPs of up to 600W and the use of 12V-2×6 power connectors. If interested, you can view our roundup on the GeForce RTX 5090 here.
Given that Comino has started to take pre-orders for a GeForce RTX 5090 workstation, we expect other manufacturers to follow, which does show us how “close” we are to the official launch.
