Apple executives are always seen with the company’s own devices, and it is expected of them to boast the products they manufacture. However, some confusion originated in the past few weeks, where Tim Cook was slated to prefer Logitech’s MX Master 3 over the company’s own Magic Mouse. However, it appears that this is not the case.
Tim Cook uses every Apple product every day, including the Magic Mouse with an awkwardly-positioned USB-C port
The claims of Tim Cook preferring to use Logitech’s MX Master 3 over the Magic Mouse are false (via MacRumors). The Wall Street Journal published an interview with Tim Cook last month, where he said that he uses every single Apple product every day. In order to replicate the same behavior, The Verge’s Wes Davis attempted to use all Apple devices in a single day. During the process, Davis stated that he used the MX Master 3 from Logitech but occasionally shifted to the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.
What this means is that it was Davis who switched to the MX Master 3 and not Apple CEO Tim Cook. The false information was a result of Mac Observer’s misinterpretation of The Verge’s post. While it is an honest mistake, the news gained plenty of traction on Reddit over the past few days. It is worth clearing the air when it comes to spreading false information that could harm organizations and individuals.
