Apple recently launched the new M4 and M4 Pro Mac mini, and the performance of the new chips is staggering compared to industry standards as well as the company’s older Apple Silicon. We have previously covered how the company’s latest M4 Pro’s performance is comparable to the M2 Ultra chip, and if you are looking to buy the base model of the Mac mini with the standard M4 chip, it packs a solid punch against the M2 Pro chip on the older model.
The M4 Mac mini costs $1,000 less than Apple’s M2 Pro Mac mini but performs better in CPU and GPU tests
Vadim Yuryev from Max Tech on YouTube shared a new video today in which he compared the M4 chip to the M1, M2, and M2 Pro chips in various tests and benchmarks. It can be seen that the base model of the Mac mini with an M4 chip outperforms the M2 Pro chip in multicore performance, as well as the Cinebench 2024 GPU test. While the results are in favor of the new M4 Mac mini, we have to consider that the machine is $1,000 cheaper than Apple’s M2 Pro Mac mini.
Apple’s M4 chip indicates how far the company has come with its Apple Silicon in such a short span of time. The M2 series of chips was launched merely two years ago, and it is good to see that the M4 chip is beating the mid-ranger in CPU and GPU results.
In single-core performance, the M4 chip received 3,828 compared to the M2 Pros 2,701, which shows a massive difference in performance. However, the multi-core score of the M4 chip is on par with the M2 Pro, with 15,022 and 15,007 points, respectively. This shows the performance of the M4 chip against the…
