TSMC is set to mass-produce its cutting-edge 2nm process by 2025, as the Taiwan giant is seeing massive interest from companies such as Apple and NVIDIA.
TSMC’s 2nm Node Is Said To Replace All Others When It Comes To Revenue Generation, Amid Gigantic Demand From The Markets
TSMC’s upcoming 2nm node is said to be a revolution for the tech markets, given that it has pledged to bring in significant performance uplifts, one that will aid in speeding up the computational capabilities of devices across the industry.
The Taiwan giant’s previous-gen processes, notably the 3nm and the 5nm, were said to be the most “in-demand” products of the company, but it looks like the 2nm will indeed replace both of them, as the process will witness adoption by major mainstream tech giants.
In an update to its “Logic Technology” section, TSMC has revealed that 2nm is slated for mass production by 2025, which not only verifies that we will see the node in action next year but the new description says that customers are already in the silicon validation stages. Here’s what TSMC says about the future of 2nm:
Major customers completed 2nm IP design and started silicon validation. TSMC also developed low resistance RDL (redistribution layer), super high performance metal-insulator-metal (MiM) capacitors to further boost performance.
TSMC N2 technology will be the most advanced technology in the semiconductor industry in both density and energy efficiency, when it is introduced in 2025.

Detailing a bit on the 2nm process, it is said that Apple is seen as a huge customer for the firm’s process. It is reported that the standard’s first debut will be on Apple’s M5 chips for Macs and future iPad models, along with the debut of the next-gen iPhone 18 models. In terms of the PC market, both Intel and NVIDIA are expected to adopt the process, with Team Blue potentially using it for its upcoming “Nova Lake” CPUs, while NVIDIA is to employ the technology in AI lineups ahead of the Rubin architecture.
Once 2nm officially drops into the markets, we expect TSMC to witness leading revenue generation, potentially surpassing all other processes if the hype sustains itself in the long run. It won’t be wrong to say that TSMC is on its way toward monopolizing the semiconductor markets, since competitors are in no way closer to what the Taiwan giant has managed to achieve.
