Apple is gearing up to launch its budget iPhone with flagship features early next year, and we have confirmation of when the device will see daylight. The iPhone SE 4 will be a major upgrade for Apple and users as well, as the device is speculated to bring an all-around design shift towards a modern form factor and overall layout. A team of analysts has now “confirmed” that Apple will launch the iPhone SE 4 in March 2025, housing Apple’s custom 5G modem.
iPhone SE 4 confirmed to launch in March housing the company’s latest 5G modem
The iPhone SE 4 will be a bigger upgrade than we initially thought and the launch will open doors for Apple as well, considering the device will be a gateway for the company to introduce its custom 5G modem. Barclay’s analyst Tom O’Malley and his colleagues visited Asia recently to meet several electronics manufacturers as well as suppliers. The recent release notes from analysts suggest that Apple is gearing up for an iPhone SE 4 launch by the end of the first quarter of 2025 (via MacRumors).
The time frame mentioned by the analyst suggests that the company could launch the iPhone SE 4 in March, and the timing is in line with the company’s prior SE releases. For instance, the iPhone SE 3 was released on March 22, 2022. This is not the first time that we have heard details on the iPhone SE 4’s release time frame speculations, and the latest news aligns with prior reports of a spring launch.
The fourth-generation iPhone SE is expected to feature a bigger 6.1-inch display with minimal bezels on all four sides. The SE 4 is also reported to move away from Touch ID on the Home Button to Face ID, which is a major step up for the device. In terms of internals, the iPhone SE 4 will feature 8GB of RAM and an A18 processor, which is the same chip that powers the iPhone 16 lineup. The higher RAM count is an indication that the device will also be Apple Intelligence-ready, which will make it the cheapest iPhone in the lineup to feature AI features.
The report also mentions that Apple plans to equip the iPhone SE 4 with its custom 5G modem. We have been hearing details on Apple’s modem for years now, and the company will finally introduce the chip starting with the SE lineup. If you are unfamiliar, Apple wants to reduce its reliance on Qualcomm, and it will gradually begin transitioning to the rest of the lineup as well. Other than the SE 4, Apple is also expected to bring its custom 5G modem to the iPhone 17 ‘Air,’ which is rumored to feature the thinnest design on any iPhone. We will keep you posted with additional details on the iPhone SE 4 as soon as further details are available.
