Intel’s “Battlemage” dGPUs won’t mark the end of Team Blue’s journey in the market, as it is now reported that next-gen “Celestial & Druid” architectures will debut as planned.
Intel Is Ready To Compete In The Desktop GPU Segment By Staying Consistent With Future Lineups
Now that we are aware of when Intel’s Battlemage architecture will be released onto the markets, which is expected by mid-December, questions surrounding Intel’s future plans for the desktop GPU market have started to pop up. This is mainly due to the uncertainty that is driven by Intel’s “sluggish” business, along with the fact that the company’s previous GPU releases haven’t worked out too well. However, in a statement by the renowned leaker @jaykihn0, Team Blue’s future Celestial and Druid desktop GPU lineups are on track.
Last dGPU?
Desktop Celestial and Druid are as planned as ever.
I’m afraid you’ve gotten Intel’s commitment to laptop dGPUs and desktop dGPUs mixed up.

The leaker, in follow-up statements, mentions the fact that Intel aims to be consistent with its desktop GPU releases, but alongside, the firm will ensure that its “laptop iGPUs” are scaled up to the point that they managed to compete with desktop counterparts, ultimately hinting towards the fact that in the longer term, Intel plans to prioritize its mobile GPUs but will continue with the development of dedicated dGPU products as well.
In terms of what to expect with Intel’s Celestial, the lineup is slated to replace Battlemage, featuring the “Xe3” architecture, but we are currently unaware of the specifications at this time. Similar is the case with Intel’s “Druid,” which will debut with the “Xe-Next” architecture, likely competing against counterparts from two generations ahead from now. All in all, it’s safe to say that Intel’s desktop GPU journey isn’t over yet and that we still have to see a lot from the company moving into the future.
For now, all eyes are set on Intel’s Arc Battlemage SKUs, which are rumored to drop in the upcoming days, and will likely show us how Team Blue is going to proceed with its desktop GPU business, for the future.
