Having to record a voice over for your online video can seem a little intimidating. It can be difficult to sound natural and composed when you’re alone in a room and speaking in front of a microphone. On top of all that, the technical aspect can be a bit daunting as well: most traditional voice recording and video editing software is geared towards professionals and can easily overwhelm someone new to content creation with complicated interfaces and a wealth of buttons and options that they would never even need to use.
If you are not that experienced in professional editing or if you are seeking a simplified approach, opting for the services of voice-over professionals can prove advantageous. Moreover, incorporating basic services such as voice narration into your content can enhance its quality and appeal. In doing so, you can effortlessly elevate the value of your work.
In this article, we want to offer you an easier alternative. We’re going to show you an online voice recorder called Flixier. This is a tool that you can use right in your web browser. You don’t need to install or download anything to your computer in order to access it. You won’t even have to create an account!
On top of that, this free online voice recorder uses cloud servers to process your voiceovers and videos, so you don’t have to worry about your computer specifications. You will be able to enjoy a smooth and seamless voice recording and editing experience on any system, whether it’s a brand-new Mac, an older Windows machine, or the best laptop for video editing. Let’s see how it works!
How to Record Your Voice and Add it to a Video with Flixier
1. Open Flixier and Import Your Video
To get started, look up ‘Flixier’ on Google to get to the voice recording website and click on Get Started in the top right corner of the screen to open the editor up in your web browser. Don’t worry! Flixier is free to try and you don’t even need to register an account in order to give it a shot.
Since the app is primarily a video editor, it will ask you to import your media. If you already have the video that you want to add your voiceover to, now is the time to bring it over. You can either drag it from your computer, import it directly from any of the cloud storage services listed there, or just copy and paste it into a YouTube or TikTok link.
After you have your video in your Flixier library, it’s time to move over to the next step: recording your voice.
2. Record Your Voice
To do that, click the Record button. You’ll see a number of options allowing you to record your screen, camera, and microphone in any combination. If you’re just looking to record a voiceover, choose the Audio option.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you Allow Flixier to access your microphone when your browser asks you to, or else the app won’t be able to record your voice.
You can use the cog wheel to make sure the right audio device is selected in case you have a headset or a USB microphone connected to your computer, and then you can click the red button to start recording.
Make sure to speak clearly in your microphone. When you’re done recording, you can press the stop button. You’ll be able to preview your recording afterward. Click the red button to re-do it, or press the green one to save the recording to your Flixier library.
3. Edit Your Voice Recording and Add it to Your Video
Now that you’ve got your voiceover, it’s time to add the audio to your video. To do that, drag your video and your audio files from the library down to the timeline at the bottom of the screen.
Editing your voice recordings is pretty easy. You can drag on the endings of an audio track on the timeline in order to trim the beginning and end. You can use the Cut button to split your track and then right-click on any unwanted parts to delete them.
Flixier is an online voice recorder with effects, so you can use that to your advantage and make the audio a little more engaging. Select your voice recording on the timeline and then add fade-ins and fade-outs to it from the menu on the right side of the screen. You can also enhance the sound by applying an equalizer. You can choose from our presets, or create your own custom equalization profile if you know what you’re doing.
4. Save or Publish Your New Voiceover Video
Once you’ve added your voiceover to your clip, it’s time to save the whole thing! Click the Export button in the top right corner. Flixier will process your video in 3 minutes or less and then save it to your computer. If you have a Flixier account, you’ll also be able to give your video a title, description, and thumbnail and then have it published straight to your YouTube channel!
So, now that you know how it all works, it’s time to get to work! Try out the Flixier voice recorder and editor today!
