If you’re getting stuck into the latest Call of Duty release, you’ll notice some major changes to the game and the functionality of certain systems. This includes the Prestige system. If you want to know how you can Prestige in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, this guide will tell you how you can do that so you can show off your expertise on the battlefield.
How To Prestige in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
To be able to Prestige, you first need to reach level 55, which is the maximum level you can reach. Once you’ve reached level 55, you’ll be given the prompt asking whether you want to Prestige. Ultimately, it’s your choice, and you don’t have to Prestige immediately; you can pick and choose when you do it.
To Prestige at a later point, you can select it via the Barracks tab in the Multiplayer lobby menu, then select the Progression tab. Under that tab, you’ll see the option to Prestige, as well as look at the various unlocks you’ve gotten on your account from level progression. If you want to Prestige, you can do it up to ten times in total. While it may seem like a bit of a pointless endeavor other than to show off to people on the battlefield, it does come with some benefits.
This includes getting cosmetic and weapon rewards, Operator Skins, Blueprints, and, of course, the Prestige icon next to your player name, which shows off your dedication to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
However, if you are going to Prestige, it’s worth nothing that once you do, you lose access to all of your weapons. You are still able to keep your loadouts, customizations, and preferred Operators, but you won’t be able to use them until you unlock them at the stated level. If your build consists of things that you can’t unlock until later, you won’t have to recreate the custom loadouts. Instead, you won’t have access to the items until you unlock them during your progression.
Additionally, every time you Prestige, you are granted a permanent unlock token. By getting this, it allows you to pick one item from your inventory that you will get to keep permanently unlocked, regardless of the level reset. This brings you closer to having your custom loadouts without having to worry about grinding the levels to get the necessary items.
Finally, you’ll also be given some one-hour Double XP tokens so that you can speed through your Prestige grind a little bit easier. Every time you Prestige, you are given one token, allowing you to earn up to ten in total, depending on how many times you Prestige.
That’s everything you need to know about the Prestige system in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
