The rivalry still continues, and users remain confused about which carrier stands at the top when it comes to services.

While Verizon and AT&T have been dominating the telecommunication market space for quite some time, this changed after the T-Mobile merger. The merger helped the company establish itself more competitively and access a wider customer base. In addition to this, under the leadership of John Legere, the company flourished due to its aggressive approach to pricing.
Even though T-Mobile, with its new price-sensitive approach, garnered quite the attention and managed to grow rapidly, in terms of profits, AT&T and Verizon still remain quite profitable. The high profitability can be attributed to the premium pricing and also the loyal customer base it has maintained. So as T-Mobile focused on growing, AT&T focused on ensuring profitability.
When it comes to superior network coverage, AT&T remains unbeatable, as its network in rural areas is especially strong. It could be that T-Mobile will not be able to maintain its position for long, and AT&T, with its strength in coverage, could reclaim its position. Verizon still remains the leader with the most robust network that extends to far-flung areas as well. If the comparison is between the two, AT&T has about 50 percent of nationwide coverage while Verizon has 56 percent of the US network space.
AT&T has managed to lead in terms of its 4G LTE and 5G coverage, as it is available widely, even in rural areas. However, if you look at the download speeds and reliability of the network, Verizon comes on top, especially with the incorporation of the ultrafast mmWave spectrum, which helps deliver faster download speeds. This performance advantage over AT&T is crucial since speed and reliability are critical in high-density areas.
AT&T also lags behind Verizon in terms of features and perks as Verizon offers access to the most popular streaming sites at a low price and without ad interruptions. Although AT&T is now in third place among US carriers in terms of subscriber numbers, the company’s wider 5G network coverage remains a major selling point and could eventually lead to its comeback.
