A growing number of companies are working on smartphones with thinner profiles as users seek more modern devices with a sleeker look. While we have been hearing about Samsung working on a “Slim” version of the Galaxy S25 for a while, the South Korean tech giant is not the only company that is trying their hands on a thinner smartphone, as Apple is reportedly working on an iPhone 17 “Slim” version to come out in 2025 and that might potentially come in place of the iPhone Plus. A recent listing shared on the smartphone database reveals that Samsung is in fact, working on launching a new device that could be the ‘Slim’ version.

Thinner profiles have not only gained popularity in the foldable industry, but companies are actively seeking to bring out slimmer models of their flagship phones. We first got the report from ET News about Samsung and Apple opting for a Slim phone competition by introducing thinner versions of the Galaxy S25 and the iPhone 17, which we could see coming out in mid-2025.
Now, SmartPrix has shared the listing for smartphones that includes “Galaxy” and the model number SM-S937U in the GSMA IMEI database, where Samsung generally puts up the smartphones that it is internally testing and that are in development.
